Domestic Services
  • Sameday Courier is a time sensitive service that is available to all major centres. The shipment will be collected within 1 hour and will be placed on the first available flight. Delivery will be undertaken within 2 hours of the flights arrival. A separate quote will need to be obtained for areas that are not in Zone 1 and 2 of our domestic route guide.   • Overmight Courier is a door to door and time sensitive service. Following collection, delivery is undertaken by 10:30 the following day. This service is available to all major centres from Monday to Friday. Details can be found under Zone 1 and 2 in our domestic route guide. To be linked to transit times.

  • Overnight Express is a door to door service. Following collection, delivery is undertaken by close of business the next day (Monday to Friday). Regional and outlying areas may require a further 24 hours for delivery of the package. Refer to our domestic route guide. To be linked to transit times.

  • Local Overnight Express Service includes items that are collected in the same city will be delivered by close of business the following day. This service is currently only available in Johannesburg and Durban.

  • Economy Roadfreight is designed for larger and less time sensitive items.

  • Domestic Airfreight is designed for larger and heavier consignments. Various service options are available to meet your requirements.

  • Insurance Airfreight Africa is a licensed intermediary in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act No 37 of 2002. Airfreight Africa's liability is limited to R50.00 per shipment. If the value of the goods exceeds this value, insurance cover is strongly recommended. This can be done through completing the “insured amount” section on our house airway bill. Alternatively, clients have the option of insuring their shipment through their own insurance company. Insurance only covers total loss. Contact Airfreight Africa for our rates.

Additional Services
  • After Hours Collection & Deliveries are available should your shipment need to be collected or delivered after business hours. A surcharge for this service will be applied.

  • Saturday Deliveries is only available between 08h00 and 12h00 for overnight and international courier options. A surcharge for this service will apply.

  • Sunday & Public Holiday Deliveries is only available on our overnight and international courier options. A surcharge for this service will apply.

  • Embassy & Consulate Collections & Deliveries are offered. A surcharge for this service will apply.

  • Mines, Farms, Retail, and Chain Stores collections and deliveries can be undertaken. A surcharge will apply.

Calculations
  • A Fuel Surcharge of the chargeable mass will be levied.

  • A Documentation Fee will cover liability of up to R50.00. To be linked to insurance

  • Volumetric Charges are charged on shipments at the greater of either the actual or volumetric mass. This calculation is done by measuring:
length (cm) x breadth (cm) x height (cm) of the shipment

International Services
  • International Courier Export is a worldwide door to door courier service that caters for international time sensitive consignments. Transit times are dependant on the destination within a country and city. This information can be gleaned from our international route guide.
  • International Courier Import is a time sensitive service. For urgent consignments from overseas, contact our offices for the rates and relevant transit times. Customs clearance will be handled on inbound shipments arriving in South Africa.
  • Cross Border Express Roadfreight is designed for less time sensitive items. Transit times range between 24 – 48 hours to the capital cities in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland. Outlaying areas in these countries will require an additional 24 - 48 hour delivery time.
  • International Airfreight is designed for larger and heavier consignments. Various service options are available to meet your requirements.
  • International Seafreight rates and service requirements can be obtained from our international department.
  • Clearing & Forwarding
  • Exporting includes the customs clearing of air or sea freight shipments as well as the on-forwarding of sea freight shipping documents to a nominated recipient agent via our international courier service from South Africa to the designated destination.
  • Importing includes customs clearing of air and sea freight shipments into South Africa. Nominate Airfreight Africa as your clearing and forwarding agent where we will undertake the necessary customs clearance and delivery of your shipment.
  • Insurance

Imortant Information
    Customs Regulations & Requirements differs from country to country. Our customer services and international department will gladly assist in this regard. It is the responsibility of the shipper to ensure all required documentations are available when the shipment is collected.     Prohibited Items
    Certain items are either forbidden and controlled by customs or prohibited by IATA when couriered from South Africa. Amongst others, these include:
    • Credit cards (does not include telephone cards)
    • Blank cheques
    • Dangerous goods
    • Food and perishable items
    • Dry ice
    • Furniture
    • Furs

    Valuable items such as:
    • Jewellery
    • Precious metals
    • Stones


Definition of a document and non-document international shipment
  • Documents include reports, manuscripts, computer print-outs, inter-office correspondence, other paper based communications and unbound printed matter. These items only require the completion of an Airfreight Africa waybill.
  • Non Document/Parcels includes any item that is not a document. Customs requires that all items must have a value. They need an original commercial invoice for items that will be re-sold and a pro-forma invoice for items not intended for re-sale.
